β¦ Synopsis
The process of BiSrCaCuO whiskers formation from a melt-quenched phase and the structure of such whiskers have been investigated. Temperature dependences of the growth rate from the melt-quenched phase with different compositions have been determined. Addition of Pb supplies new regions of growth at lower temperatures. The DC properties of whiskers have been analyzed; the observed system of quasi-periodic peaks on the contact dV/dZ( V) dependence can be explained by the quantum size effect.
