✦ Synopsis

The title compound, (C 31 H 42 N 3 ) 2 [Mo 6 O 19 ], contains an [Mo 6 O 19 ] 2À hexamolybdate anion, which is built up from six distorted MoO 6 octahedra sharing common edges and one common vertex at the central O atom, and two hexaethylpararosaniline cations to balance the charge. The Mo-O distances lie in the range 1.670 (3)-2.325 (2) A ˚.
