โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Department of Defense (DOD) installations with significant natural resources are required to write and implement an Integrated Natural Resources Manageโ€ment Plan (INRMP). These plans must support the military training mission but also incorporate principles of ecosystem management at a landscape scale. Bird conservation planning by conservation initiatives such as Partners in Flight is based on a landscapeโ€level, ecosystem approach and focus on partnerโ€ships. State and federal programs are working toward similar objectives. We ilโ€lustrate how the partnerships and science of bird conservation planning benefit INRMPs and support the military mission. ยฉ 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
