✦ Synopsis
fhe oscillating reaction between bromate and malonic acid in acidic solution (Belousov-Zhabotinskii reaction, BZR) was found to be catalyzed by [Os(hipy)a] SO4*8H2O in the presence of an excess of 2,2_bipyridine. Reactant consntrations are very critical. Cr-bipyridme complexes obtained by various methods also were found to catalyze the BZR.
