The ability of the white rot basidiomycete Phanerochaete chrysosporium to transform s-triazine herbicides has been investigated in laboratory experiments. The chlorinated metabolites formed during atrazine Ndealkylations were not further transformed by the fungus, whereas hydroxyatrazine was convert
