✦ Synopsis

Reviews related to heat transfer, evaporation, and condensation. The last chapter by Hubertus Strughold of the Aerospace Medical Division, Brooks air Force Base, discusses various aspects of lunar medicine. En route to the moon the radiation levels could be kept below medically unacceptable values by selecting low intensity routes and by using shielding in the space craft. The state of weightlessness during the flight, the changes in muscle sense, posture sense, and pressure sense at the lunar surface are discussed briefly. The unusual conditions regarding light on the moon are considered briefly. Some of the predictions of this chapter have been demonstrat'ed recently on the flight of Apollo 8.
