Many biological processes give outcome data which show a curvilinear association with time which tends to an asymptote. We show how autoregressive models can be used to describe this association within individual subjects. We also present a Bayesian approach implemented using statistical software, B

β¦ Synopsis
A number of recent experiments have revealed the existence of mutants with different free run periods in their circadian rhythms. Parameter variations in mathematical models can be used to simulate such changes. I n addition, phase response curves (PRC) are derived and the effect of parameter variation in their shape is studied. I t is shown that changes in global parameters can also distort their shape. Therefore one cannot conclude that genetic experiments provide evidence in favor of "ehronon" models since "kinetic" models can also simulate their outcome.

Abnormalities in autonomic activity resulting in disturbances of the diurnal rhythm of many physiologic processes were recently revealed in hypertensive patients. These findings suggest deteriorations in the functioning of the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), which is known to be the biological clock
This study aims at developing a simple and practical mathematical model to predict the performance of a submerged membrane adsorption hybrid system (SMAHS). Adsorption equilibrium and kinetic studies were first carried out with powdered activated carbon (PAC) for removing persisting organics from a
## Abstract The effect of ferrous ion on the biological activity in a upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor was studied. A mathematical model was developed and validated in order to simulate the dynamic behavior of a UASB reactor. This model took into consideration of all the biological an
