## Abstract Among various protease inhibitors, chymostatin (an inhibitor of sperm chymotrypsinlike protease) strongly inhibited the binding of sperm to the vitelline coat of glycerinated eggs of the ascidian __Halocynthia roretzi__, whereas leupeptin (an inhibitor for sperm acrosin), antipain, and
