✦ Synopsis
Removal of binder materials used in manufacturing ceramic green body was studied in the environment of supercritical CO2 with/without some organic entrainers. Lighter organic binder materials (higher alcohols and higher fatty acids) were extracted, but not the heavier organic binder materials. Values of diffusion parameter for the lighter organic materials were determined. When ethanol, methylene chloride, or n-hexane were added as entrainers in SC-CO2, the diffusion parameter of the lighter materials became considerably larger compared to the case without the entrainers.
