✦ Synopsis


Vapour-liquid equilibrium data for the systems : methyl ethyl ketone-eyclohexane and acetone-cyclohexane are determined at 760 mm Hg. It is found that methyl ethyl ketonecyclohexane system forms a minimum boilii azeotrope at 52.7 mole per cent cycJohexane and 71.6X! at 780 mm. This is in close agreement with the recently published data of DONALD and R.~OWAY, [I] but shows some disagreement with that of LEC~T [2]. Acetone-cycJohexane system forms an azeotrope at 25.0 mole per cent cyclohexane and 53~0°C at 760 mm. This is in close agreement with the azeotropic data reported in literature [3]. Thermodynamic consistency for both the systems has been tested by the method of Rxn~mn and KISTER [4] and the area condition is well satisfied showing that the experimental data are thermodynamically sound. The activity coefficients of the two systems are satisfactorily correlated by the Margules 3.suffix equations of Worm [5]. On trouve que les systtmes methyl ethyl c&one+ycJohexane pr&entent un azeotrope (minimum) pour 52,7% molaires de yclohexane bouillant ii 71,6'C sous 760 mm. Ce resultat est en complet accord avec les don&es r&emment publiees par DONALD et RIDGWAY [l], mais presente quelque &art avec les travaux de LECAT [2]. Les systtmas ac&oneyclohexane pr&entent un azeotrope pour 25,Oyo molaires de yclohexane bouillant B 58,O"C sous 760 mm. Ce resultat Concorde parfaitement avec les dormees azeotropiques de la litt&ature (3). La valeur des proprietes thermodynamiques des deux systemes a QtB v&iilee par Is m&hode de REDLICH et KISTER (4) qui a month? que les r&ultats experimentaux sont thermodynamiquement valables. Les coefficients d'activite des 2 system&s sont v&ifi& de fapon satisfaisante par les equations aux 3 indices de Margules et WOHL (5). Zusammenfassung-Dampf-Fliissigkeits-Gleichgewichte sind filr die Systeme : Methyliithylketon-Cyclohexan und Aceton-Cyclohexan bei 780 Torr bestimmt worden. Danach besitzt das System Methylathylketon-Cyclohexan ein zaeutropes Siedeminimum bei 52,7 Molprozent CycJohexan und 71,6Y bei 760 Torr. Dieses Ergebnis ist in guter Uberelnstimmung mit den kiirzlich veriiffentlichten Werten von DONALD und RIDGWAY [l], zeigt jedoch einige Abweichungen zu denen von LECAT [2]. Das System Aceton-Cyelohexan bildet ein Azeotrop bei 25,0 Molprozent CycJohexan und 53,O'C b,ei 760 Torr. Diese Werte stimmen gut mit den azeotropischen Daten der Literatur [3] Oberein. Die thermodynamische Konsistenz fiir beide Systeme wurde nach der Methode von REDLICA und KISTE~ [4] nachgepriift. ,Die Flgchenbedingung ist gut erffillt, woraus hervorgeht, dass die Versuchsergebnisse thermodynamisch korrekt sind. Die Aktivitiitskoeffizienten der beiden Systeme lassen sich befriedigend durch eine Margules-Gleichungvom " Drei-Suffix-Typ " nach WOHL [5] wiedergeben.
