✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Bilateral third nerve paresis attributed to neurosyphilis has not been documented in the absence of associated neurological deficits. We describe a patient with isolated bilateral third nerve paresis, positive serological findings in blood and cerebrospinal fluid, CSF pleocytosis, and increased protein content. Resolution of these abnormalities occurred when the patient was treated with penicillin.
