✦ Synopsis
This paper deals with the estimation of linear thne invariant (LTI) systems using
La, querrien models. The Laguerre J~mctions used in this" paper are presented in their 9eneraljorm, i.e. usin 9 two exponential Jactors. The main contribution 0[ this paper is the development ~[ an algorithm which per/orms the decomposition ~oC a siqnal into Laguerre series Jor negative as well as positive time domains. These two decompositions are then a99regated to .[~)rm a unique bilateral expansion. The method is' then used to decompose input and output s~qnals defined for positive as well as ne,qatice time (the case ~?[non zero initial conditions o.t the state process is considered) into their bilateral Laguerre expansions in order to compute the parameters ~?
