โฆ Synopsis
There is a large body of research on the efยฎcacy of various forms of treatment for bulimia nervosa and to a lesser extent anorexia nervosa. Much less is known about how this can be translated into effectiveness in clinical practice. Other factors which are important in service provision and planning such as cost-effectiveness and service acceptability have not received adequate attention. The aim of this paper is to review selectively our knowledge about these core factors in service development and to describe how these factors can be incorporated into newer models of delivery of care for eating disorder sufferers.
