and Newborn In/ants Summary. J-131-1abeled Triiodothyronine bound to serum-proteins of mothers and newborn infants has been examined in 266 cases and controlled during 48 h post partum. The capacity of thyreoglobuline in maternal and infantile serum differs considerably. The results of the Ta-absorption-test vary meanly by 8.81%. The variation of the mean values is significant. The Ta-absorption of the newborn infants is within the range of hypothyroidism similar to the T3-absorption of mothers. Contrary to the mothers the results of the Ta-absorption-test of the newborn babies normalize within 24 h.
