✦ Synopsis
The well-known logistic growth function is used for evaluation of fermentation runs if only the product (and biomass) data are available. Three programs, PMAX, MYX, KP, are presented for use on a minicomputer. The program PMAX (MYX) performs an iterative least-square fit of product (biomass) data to the 3-parametric logistic function. Additionally the program PMAX calculates the product kinetic parameters (maximum product concentration, maximum productivity and lag time of product formation), the program MYX the growth kinetic parameters ( T ~I B S and pmax) and KP the time course of specific product formation rate. Finally, the errors of the optimized parameters and a graphic representatmion of measured data and the calculated logistic functions are printed out.
