✦ Synopsis
Yearly and monthly rhythms of 770 exacerbations of 561 infants and children suffering from spastic bronchitis and their relation to seasonality and meteorologic factors (fronts, fog) were studied. It was stated that the disease is most frequent in winter, and it is especially the cold front that plays a role in eliciting exacerbations and accumulating relapses on certain days. There was no relation between the foggy days and the disease. When these results were compared with the literary data of asthmatic children, the front-susceptibility of these patients appeared to be identical to that of asthmatic children, whereas seasonality did not show any connection in this respect.
