To the Etiology o/ the Pronatio Dolorosa Summary. This paper reports possible causes of the disease called "pronatio dolorosa". Radial heads of adults, children, and unborn children have been analyzed by means of measuring their dimensions and by studies of anatomical specimen. A marked valgus position of the elbow joint in children combined with the laxity of the ligamentous apparatus and the interosseous membrane is considered to the cause of the "pronatio dolorosa". The tendency of the radial head to subluxate is caused mainly by his characteristical chape hut the data found are identical for children and adults.
Zusammentassung. Meßtechnische Untersuchungen der Radiusköpfchen von Erwachsenen, Kindern und Feten sowie das Studium von Gelenk-B/~nder-Präparaten des Ellbogengelenkes ließen für das Zustandekommen der Pronatio dolorosa lediglich die vermehrte Valgität des kindlichen Ellbogens und Dehnbarkeit des Bandapparates und besonders der Membrana interossea ursächlich erkennen. Die besondere Form des Radiusköpfchens mit seiner charakteristischen Ansladung, bedingt durch eine Diameter-Differenz des Köpfchens und Schrggstellung der Gelenkfläche der Fovea capitis ist mitbestimmend für den Subluxationsmechanismus, die gefundenen Meßwerte sind jedoch bei Kindern und Erwachsenen identisch.
