The title compound, C~23~H~19~ClN~2~O~2~, has been obtained by the reaction of (__Z__)-4-(4-chlorobenzylidene)-2-phenyloxazol-5(4__H__)-one and benzylamide. The molecules are connected by two N—H...O intermolecular hydrogen bonds to form helicoidal chains running parallel to the __c__ axis.
There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C 15 H 14 N 2 O 4 , which differ from each other in some torsion angles. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked throgh intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the b axis.
In the title molecule, C 17 H 19 NO 3 , the dihedral angle formed by the planes of the two benzene rings is 62.3 (1) . There are no direction-specific interactions in the supramolecular structure.
