The title phosphonium salt, C 26 H 22 OP + ÁI À , isomorphous with (benzoylmethyl)triphenylphosphonium nitrate, exhibits both intramolecular CÐHÁ Á ÁI and intermolecular CÐHÁ Á ÁO interactions. The latter interaction leads to supramolecular parallel zigzag chains along the a axis.
