Abstract

Benzo[1,2‐__d;__3,4‐d′]‐ (9) and ‐[1,2‐d;‐4,5‐d′]diimidazole (10) were prepared by reactions of the corresponding benzenetetramines 1 and 2 with N,N‐dimethylformamide or N,N‐dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal 4. The corresponding reaction of benzenehexamine (3) gave the benzo[1,2‐__d;__4,5‐d′]diimidazole derivative 8.
