The justification for many CAD systems becomes very considerable when some of the benefits resulting from integrated CAD are considered. The benefits of intergration can be very considerably greater than the sum of individual benefits. Some of the benefits resulting from CAD include the following -many or all of these wilt result from use of an integrated system.

First, use of computerized information retrieval to retrieve previous drawings, component characteristics, supplies, etc can save very considerable amounts of time.
