โœฆ Synopsis

We published our data' and our analysis of the data from Futado and colleagues2 in the hope of stimulating an analysis of data such as that presented by Drs Sieradzan and Mann.

We are pleased that their caudate nucleus data fit our hypothesis and disappointed that their cortical data do not. This result is not surprising, because there is little correlation between striatal and cortical pathology in Huntington's di~ease.~

We share the authors' concern about correcting pathological data for the age at death, as age at death is so highly correlated with CAG repeat number. This is why we appealed for analyses of data that were not dependent on postmortem measures such as those obtained from positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, or neuropsychological testing. One such analysis has already appeared: Hopefully, more will be forthcoming.
