Science and its application can have farreaching effects (positive and negative), thereby giving rise to various moral problems. These should be discussed thoroughly between specialists of the fields of science and moral philosophers. The present communication outlines a sketch of what might be called a rational justification of norms and tries "-~ show the relevance of such norms to research activities, the question of application of scientific discoveries and, finally, the responsibility of the scientist as a specially competent member of his society.
