Welcome to The Magic Bean Coffeehouse, a quaint little coffeeshop in Takoma Park Maryland. The proprietor Genn is a witch who has given up on love and pours all her energy into her coven, her shop and her two dogs Mutt and Jeff- twin Basenjis she rescued while on vacation overseas. Just before Samhain she went to Georgia to visit her grandmother and found a locket. Ever since then her life has turned upside down. Her life was already complicated but now she's got a ghost, a family curse, and a mysterious stranger to contend with. It's enough to make a witch lose her mind.

Emmanuel is an investigator for a society of paranormal troubleshooters. When his cousin asks him to look into the family curse it gives him just the excuse he needs to travel into the United States and follow rumors of paranormal activity and a murderer who just might be an honest to god monster. With his partner Logan they head to the state of Maryland where they meet Genn and her coven and discover that their lives are tied in more ways than they could ever imagine.

Which suits him perfectly. Because Genn is everything he'd ever dreamed of in a woman. So if he has to use a ghost to help him land her, that's fine. After all, there's nothing like a centuries old mystery to show the one you love that you're the kind of man she needs.
