Contribution to the Synthesis of 8‐Azaprostanoids: Reaction of Succinimides with (Benzoylmethylene)triphenylphosphorane
5‐(2‐Oxo‐2‐phenylethylidene)‐2‐pyrrolidinone (4), which can easily be transformed into the 8‐azaprostanoid synthon 2 was obtained in a simple way from a reaction of succinimide or thiosuccinimide with (benzoylmethylene)triphenylphosphorane.
