The American lobster, Homarus americanus which usually has dimorphic chelipeds consisting of a cutter and a crusher claw, occasionally has bilateral crusher claws. In these unusual lobsters however, only one of the paired claw behaves as a normal crusher claw. The other claw has only the appearance
