AESseal is launching a version of the MagTecta bearing isolator designed specifically for oil mist applications.
The company is responding to surveys showing that oil-mist lubrication is the predominant method of lubricating pumps throughout the refining industry in the US. Oil-mist usage at 30 refineries in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area of Texas showed that about 80% of the pumps at each refinery were serviced by an oil-mist system.
The MagTecta OM bearing isolator allows oil mist introduction between the bearing and the bearing isolator, thus causing mist flow through the bearing before reaching the interior of the bearing housing.
