Abstract
Some beamforming strategies are presented for compact arrays in wireless systems. To rigorously account for mutual coupling, we rely on the exact active element pattern method. By considering a compact and low‐cost array operating in the HiperLAN band, it is shown that the proposed method allows null steering and beam steering. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
