"The Gift" by Cat Shaffer was especially touching to me due to circumstances in my own life and I wanted to reach out and protect Al as he went to the Alzheimer's unit to visit his wife.
"Bittersweet" by Tracy March was another standout, and her story of a grandmother reliving memories through her adorable grandson will stay with me for a long time.
"A Mother's Heart" by Janet Eaves hit all of the right notes for a sweet Valentine's story.
Amy LeBlanc's "The Red Dress" was a wonderful surprise because it added characters to "Secondhand Horses," the story she started in the Christmas anthology.

And once again, Margaret Ethridge managed to blow me away with "Be Mine," another chapter in her continuing saga of Jack and Ellie, the couple trying to handle a long distance romance that we first met in "Concourse Christmas." I adored this tale, not only because of Margaret's ability to weave in details and her gift of dialogue that make you feel like you're an eavesdropper in the scene, but because for Ellie and Jack, true love does not unfold smoothly. And I love stories that make 'em work for their happiness, just the way the rest of us do!
