β¦ Synopsis
Beth Bryson lives quietly and contentedly in the small seaside town of Bride's Bay. Her life revolves around Nell, her niece; close friends Gina and Carol as well as her part-time job. Two new-comers move to the town, causing interest; particularly the vivacious Melissa, who has moved to the area to continue her career as an artist. Retired lecturer Tom Callow also causes flutters in the hearts of the town's spinsters. Then a spate of burglaries unsettles the small town, casting suspicion on local people and dividing the community. But things come to a head when a brutal murder takes place, causing shock and disbelief. As Beth tries to come to terms with her growing feelings for Tom- feelings she knows can never amount to anything - she discovers people are not always as they seem, a discovery leading her into danger.
