✦ Synopsis

Compact expressons are derived for the analytical gradient with a general MC SCF L.CAO wavefunction. Cancellations among the terms involved are shown to have important computational aspects, and substantial reductions of computer time may be achreved with a properly chosen basis set.

## Abstract Following the recent studies of basis sets explicitly dependent on oscillatory external electric field we have investigated the possibility of some further truncation of the so‐called polarized basis sets without any major deterioration of the computed data for molecular dipole moments,

## Abstract For the first time the convergence of the phonon frequencies and dispersion curves in terms of the supercell size is studied in __ab initio__ frozen phonon calculations on LiF crystal. Helmann–Feynman forces over atomic displacements are found in all‐electron calculations with the local
