This book contains complete information on the procedures for synthesiz­
ing mescaline, psilocybin, LSD, DMT, STP, MDA, THC and cocaine. It also
gives pertinent data on chemicals called for, such as toxicity and fire
hazards, chemical and physical properties, legal risks, alternate uses, and
advice on handling. Another chapter explains terminology which may be
unfamiliar to the reader and describes special equipment with basic in­
structions for those who wish to know how to build the equipment them­
selves. In another section we clarify the legal problems o f ordering certain
“ watched” chemicals and tell how chemists circumvent the danger o f being
caught. Despite the thoroughness o f this manual we hope that no one will
construe that we are encouraging the manufacture, sale, or use o f illicit
drugs. Quite the contrary, we wish to remind our readers o f the grave legal
repercussions to which the manufacturer, vendor, and user may expose
himself. We publish this book because we feel that knowledge is the birth­
right o f every individual who seeks it.
