โœฆ Synopsis

In studying a number of English china clays it was found that their exchangeable base capacity seemed to be a distinguishing property.

As a consequence, the work was extended to other clays and at the present time the total exchangeable base capacities of 25 different clays have been determined. The clays now studied are divided into four groups and their maximum, minimum, and average base exchange capacities are given below in milliequivalents per IOO grams of clay.

Maximum. Minimum. Average.
