## It is shown, from the spln-polarlzed total-energy band-structure calculation, that the antlferromagnetlc insulating state is stable against the paramagnetlc metalllc state for LazCu04, and that holes appear in the Cu dx2-y2 band and then In the Cu d=2 band upon doping of Sr.
