โœฆ Synopsis

Efficient vibrational excitation and dissociation of halogen molecules have been observed in molecular dynamics simulations of shock-heated ram-gas clusters. We discuss the propensity for such transfen in a single atom-molecule collision and present classical trajectory computational results. Rather large cross sections are reported. It is expected that in a real experiment some of the flux will be diverted to electronic excitation.

## Abstract The frequency of collisions of ideal gas molecules (argon) with a rough surface has been studied. The rough/fractal surface was created using random deposition technique. By applying various depositions, the roughness of the surface was controlled and, as a measure of the irregularity,

Total quenching of the low-Rydberg state of Na in collision with thermal Ne and Ar was investigated, for the first time, employing a molecular approach in the impact parameter formalism. A large basis set of Slater-type orbitals was used to calculate the molecular structure of the transient quasimol
