โฆ Synopsis
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (EESA) includes many beneficial tax provisions for businesses in addition to the well-publicized $700 billion bailout of the financial industry. For many businesses, the single most important tax provision is the extension of the research credit that had expired at the end of 2007. However, many other favorable tax provisions for businesses were also extended and new tax breaks added to encourage energy conservation. This column highlights some of the more significant tax provisions for businesses.
