โฆ Synopsis
An investigation is made into the net flow rate and fluid viscosity influence on backmixing in multistage, baffled and unbatlled, mixer columns.
Results are correlated with reference to both interstage backflow rate and intrastage backflow rate, the latter being a new fluid-dynamic parameter introduced in this paper.
Consideration is also given to the problem of determining a limit of the reliability of the model of a cascade of ideal tanks with backmixing.
