β¦ Synopsis
AMraet-The course of consecutive reactions comprising two reaction stages is calculated. An examination is made of the effect which the order of the two reactions has on the yields of intermediate and fmal products.
A number of graphs are constructed showing the influence of time and reaction conditions on the concentration of the intermediate and final products.

The intrinsic selectivity of a heterogeneous catalyst may be modified by addition of poisons when a different number of catalytic sites are occupied by various reacting species. We extend here a model of Herington and Rideal to account for modification of intrinsic selectivity of catalytic first ord
This is the first of a sequence of three articles, which describes the effect of diffusion limitations on rate and on selectivity in heterogeneous consecutive reactions. In particular the effect on selectivity, which the literature mentions in connection with solid catalysis only, has been the subje
In this second article on consecutive reactions in heterogeneous systems the effect of diffusion limitation on yield and selectivity is discussed for various orders of the reaction rates. A family of reactions including all combinations of zero-, first-and second-order reaction rates has been studie
Laser-controlled bimolecular isotopic exchange reactions in bromine leading to alterations in natural isotopic abundance ratios have been directly observed using lasermodulated molecular beams and mass analysis. Several instances of selective excitation and subsequent rapid isotope exchange are obse
