In this paper we investigate structural properties of a certain class of graphs (%&free graphs) which are relevant in the study of kernel theory, m-free graphs satisfy the strong perfect graph conjecture of Berge. We investigate orientations of Z&free graphs and other classes of graphs which produce

✦ Synopsis
In this note I prove that B, or B,-oriented digraphs satisfy the following conjecture proposed by Meyniel (1980): if every directed cycle of odd length in a digraph D has at least two pseudodiagonals then D has a kernel.

## Abstract In this article, we apply a cutting theorem of Thomassen to show that there is a function __f__: N → N such that if __G__ is a 3‐connected graph on __n__ vertices which can be embedded in the orientable surface of genus __g__ with face‐width at least __f__(__g__), then __G__ contains a
## Abstract The proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of benzo[__b__]‐furan, ‐thiophene and ‐selenophene oriented in a potassium laurate lyotropic liquid crystal have been analyzed. Geometrical information has been obtained and compared to previous thermotropic results and various hypothetical
## Abstract Let __G__ be a graph embedded in the Klein bottle with “representativity” at least four. We give a formula for the orientable genus of __G__, which also implies a polynomially bounded algorithm. The formula is in terms of the number of times certain closed curves on the Klein bottle int
## Abstract The cytokine IL‐7 and its receptor are essential for normal B and T lymphopoiesis. We have analyzed the role of this receptor in B cell development throughout ontogeny in IL‐7 receptor α‐deficient mice. We demonstrate that the IL‐7 receptor becomes progressively more important with age.
