β¦ Synopsis
operation speed of the power detector. For example, on the basis of the condition in Figure 2 and m Ο 50, a power detector operated at a speed of 1 s may support the system to sense the displacement from 2.5 m to 2.5 mm when the displacement occurs for 1 s.
In summary, we have proposed and demonstrated a novel fiber sensing algorithm, which contains two fibers so that common noise can be eliminated. The experimental results coincide with the theoretical calculation. High sensing resolution as well as high dynamic range is achievable. The sensing resolution depends on the encircling number. The dynamic range of the sensing depends the linearity of the phase change with respect to the displacement and operation speed of the power detector.
