✦ Synopsis

for the 'Ohyama Prize of CAY award on "Influence of the Transport Current on Hysteresis Losses in Superconducting Wires'. Professor T. Satou (Tohoku University) summarized his efforts for Taconis-type dilution refrigerators on the subject of 'Flow of Superfluid 4He and Refrigerators', which revealed some fundamental properties of 3He/4He. Professor T. Masumoto (Tohoku University) gave a review on "Special Characteristics of Amorphous Alloys', in which, as an example, superconducting amorphous Mo alloy (T~ --9.5 K) was mentioned.

Apart from 29 normal sessions, two symposia were held on 'Present Status of Pulsed Superconducting Magnets" and 'Computer Controlled Refrigerator Systems'.

Background: Drug-eluting stents (DES) have been highly successful in reducing in-stent restenosis; however, current DES are associated with increased late stent thrombosis, an often catastrophic complication. Late stent thrombosis is likely due to long-term antiproliferative effects of the current '
