## Abstract Depending on the circumstances, autophagy can be either a protective or damaging cellular process. The role of autophagy in photodynamic therapy (PDT), a photo‐chemotherapy that utilizes light to activate a photosensitizer drug to achieve localized cellular damage, has been explored in
