โฆ Synopsis
Under ultraviolet illumination, eggs of the ascidians Ciona intestinalis and C. savignyi were found to emit specific autonomous fluorescence in the myoplasmic region of egg cytoplasm, the vacuoles of test cells, and the follicular vesicles of follicle cells. The fluorescent egg cytoplasm formed a crescent after ooplasmic segregation and was distributed mainly to presumptive muscle cells.
