โœฆ Synopsis

Automatica appears to have a reputation for keeping authors at revising and further improving their papers. This is to some extent borne out by the diagram below, which shows that for accepted papers the review times until the final decision have a very flat distribution.

The median is eleven months. The data concerns papers submitted during 1993.

The Automatica editors are much quicker at rejecting papers. After four months the fate of half of these papers is settled. To prevent papers from staying in the review process indefinitely, with micro improvements in each reviewrevision cycle, most Automatica editors reject papers that have not been at least tentatively accepted after two full rounds of reviews.
