✦ Synopsis
This paper presents a scheme of automatic mesh generation for computing the local stresses by 2D-viscoplastic boundary element method (BEM) with modified transfinite mapping method. The advanced techniques for mesh spacing and region of transfinite mapping method in BEM are studied. The applications demonstrate that the method in BEM gives high computational efficiency and precise modelling of boundaries. This reduces the time and effort required of the analyst to set up a nonlinear model, the amount of input data required is reduced greatly. The numerical examples are given in a later section.
