✦ Synopsis
A new approach to generating a non-planar shape-preserving interpolating curve is presented. The resulting curve is a piecewise rational cubic that is G 2 continuous. It is obtained through an optimisation process involving some ''fairness criteria'', in order to achieve a visually pleasing curve.
