A mini-computer controls several installations where rabbits perform pattern-discrimination tests. Each installation runs independently of the others, permitting each rabbit to behave at its own speed (which is an essential part of the test). The number of installations can easily be extended without changing the program.

T s E proposed system controls nitrogen flow, providing a stable deep cooling of circulating traps for diffusion pumps. The necessary pressure is maintained in a Dewar by means of an automatic valve and a heater on the nitrogen line, and as the nitrogen reserve is exhausted a signal is switched on.
