✦ Synopsis

AIXTRON (Aachen, Germany) has recorded Q1/2001 sales of ~59.8m (up 161% on Q1/2000): • 44% from Asia; • 39% from the USA; and • 17% from Europe. It claims a market share of 56% (up from 54% in 1999). Orders were ~52.3m (up 36%), giving a backlog at end-March of C156.5m (up 100% on a year ago). AIXTRON reckons sales will grow 49% to C235m for 2001.
