β¦ Synopsis
Initially a suction p u m p was h i r e d to t r a n s f e r the slurry from t h e l a g o o n o n t o o p e n ground to complete the dryingout process. But its high viscosity caused the p u m p to clog up repeatedly.
With a considerable a m o u n t of excavating e q u i p m e n t tied up on the site, the company needed to complete the work as quickly as possible.
This was a suitable case for Hydrainer's 100SH-25 pump, a heavy duty solids h a n d l i n g u n i t designed specifically to cope with high-consistency sludges.
Preliminary trials with a single 100SH-25 showed t h a t more p u m p i n g p o w e r w o u l d be needed, b u t w h e n a second p u m p was a d d e d t h e work p r o c e e d e d w i t h o u t difficulty. The lagoon was cleared within the allotted three weeks.
