โฆ Synopsis
The biggest problem that medicinal chemists in academia face โฆ is finding great students to work with-so many of our brighter students see more lucrative opportunities elsewhere.
In my opinion, the term "medicinal chemist" means โฆ being a very good chemist first, with a good understanding of biological mechanisms and small molecule-macromolecule interactions.
My first experiment was โฆ as a kid, learning how to make my own gun powder and fuses, then how to generate hydrogen from aluminum foil and lye. Cool stuff!
